    Really grateful for this talk! I worked on one live service title with Unreal that made many of these mistakes and now on my second title I am hoping to avoid. On my previous title we also made some use of Data Tables, highly recommend keeping anything you want to tune in one for the reasons mentioned in this talk.

    What about physics and collisions? A spacecraft approaching this planet will collide with the flat version right ? This means we cannot make a space game with many planets and spaceships. I wonder what is the use of these techniques in real games other than creating fancy visuals.

    Hello. I am a Mac user. I have been following the Face Ar Sample docs and have both certificate and provision checked and green. However I've got the following error when trying to deploy it. ERROR: Project '/Users/Shared/Epic Games/UE_4.25/' does not exist Is there anything I can do to fix this? Thank you.

    Man, this looks spectacular! I think this new tech would be beneficial to quite a few game franchises.     Well, there's no doubt great sound creates more immersion but VIDEO games aren't audio games and that's why sound isn't prioritized. Once gaming becomes VR it will obviously be an equal part of the art. Physics is STILL the elephant in the room. I'm glad that light physics is finally being addressed but.... we need holophonic audio with real physics to complete it. Graphics, in its general meaning, is already there. Take BOTW.... it's beautiful to look at. Another world. With everything else in place it....nvm

    not a real global illumination , it's a trick the engine does.the real precalculated gi haves another appearance.this tricks only works for videogames but not to produce photorealism

    While it's cool this engine will be scalable down to the Nintendo Switch, but will their really be any real difference between Unreal Engine 5 running on Switch as oppose to Unreal Engine 4 on it? Like if their isn't any graphical difference in the games on Switch then what's the point?

    Yes, but is it possible make realistic tornadoes of varying forms (rope, stove-pipe, wedge etc), rotating LP super-cells and other specific cloud types like mammatus or cumulonimbus etc? Check the HRgo channels of storm chasers to see what I'm specifically referring to. :)

    It looks amazing. I have found only two minor errors whe my brain was protesting : 04:14 The water behaves a bit unnatural here. Maybe the colour and the density looks a bit weird in this demo. 05:49 The bugs shouldn't have disappeared immediately as soon as the tomb is lightened as they should have walked in the shadows

    my character doesn't even pop up for some reason, i followed all the previous tutorial in the right order 1 by 1 and did the same things for everything
